As a group project in my design class, a few classmates and I were tasked with creating a logo and website for Chilton Soccer, a local soccer organization. After several brainstorming sessions and design iterations, the organization chose my logo design. Here is the process I went through.

Research and Ideation:

Before starting the design process, we conducted thorough research on the organization and its mission, as well as its competitors and the soccer industry as a whole. This research helped us identify the key elements that the logo needed to convey, such as teamwork, athleticism, and community.

Next, we each created mood boards, which we used to narrow down our concepts and begin designing.

Design and Iteration:

Using Adobe Illustrator, I started designing various logo concepts, using the information gathered during the research phase. I focused on creating a design that was clean, modern, and timeless, while also incorporating elements that spoke to the organization’s mission.

 

After several iterations and feedback from my classmates and the organization, we narrowed down the designs to a few top contenders. Finally, the organization chose my logo design.

 

Website Design:

In addition to creating the logo and brand guide, our team was also tasked with designing a website for Chilton Soccer. Using my logo and brand guide, I took on the task of creating the “Leauges” page, while also helping my teammates with the design of the other pages.

We ensured that the website was responsive and optimized for all devices, ensuring a seamless user experience for Chilton Soccer’s audience.

Conclusion:

Overall, the project was a great success, and I was honored to have my logo design chosen by the organization. Creating the brand guide and website design helped me understand the importance of consistency in branding and design, and I gained valuable experience working on a project with real-world applications.
